youtube

I thought this was really funny, if a bit long. I wish sometimes we had a dark librarian roving library looking for troublemakers. It was fairly easy to find this video. We could show the summer reading club video we make every year or the programs that people would like to go to but can't for one reason or another, that way they still get to see it even if they couldn't make it on the day the presenters came.

Twitter

I thought it was pretty easy to find subjects that I like as long as you know what you are looking for. It is interesting to find just how many people and companies do have an active twitter account. I don't like blogging or micro blogging. I feel my time could be spend doing something more productive, but I do see how it could be useful to other people. I think that libraries could use this like any other social media, to inform people of upcoming events or to notify about the library closing for whatever reason and when it will open again.

I followed Zahi Hawass  because he is the antiquities director in Egypt and ancient Egypt has always facinated me. I also followed Paul Boughton, he is part of the Egyptology News Network. I like to keep updated on the latest find and discoveries of the Ancient Egyptians. The third one in archaeologynews. I like to keep updated on what is the latest news in archeology in general as well.

Facebook

I like that you can connect with anyone who is using facebook. It is nice to meet up with old friends and family you never get to see. I many use facebook for the games. I do occasionally use it to keep up on my extended family, but mostly we call each other anyway. I will probably not be using it much longer. I am kind of bored with it. I think that they library should use it. It can help people keep up with what is going on in the library if they don't have internet by getting messages sent as a text to their phone. I think the library should use it to post current events at the library but also perhaps as a "suggestion box" where people can post ideas for the library.
